5-Week, Sculpting / Handbuilding-Beginners (Handaufbau-Workshop für Anfänger, am Abend)

Workshop Overview

(Der Workshop wird auf Deutsch unterrichtet und auf Wunsch auch auf Englisch.)

Over the five sessions in five weeks, you will learn the foundational techniques and theories for handbuilding ceramic artworks. From pinch pots to coil vessels, you’ll learn how to sculpt and refine clay using handbuilding methods. The workshop will also cover essential practices for handling tools and materials in a ceramic studio.

Have you always wanted to make your own teapot? Or maybe a vase? Or even a sculpture? Make your dream clay project a reality!

This workshop gives you the opportunity to bring your own clay project to life. From developing your idea to creating the final piece, our teacher will guide you step by step on how to turn your idea into a real clay creation.

The Workshop

• 4 sessions: Learning & Practicing Handbuilding Techniques
• 1 session: Learning glazing
• Each session lasts 2 hours

Ready for Pickup

• Your final pieces will be fired as food-safe stoneware ceramics and ready for pickup.
• You will receive an email notification to arrange a pickup appointment.

Time

• Handbuilding Sessions: 4 sessions over 4 weeks, starting at 6:30 PM
• Glazing Session: Approximately 4 weeks after the wheel sessions, we will announce suggested glazing session dates via email. You can choose any of these dates to learn glazing.

Workshop Fee

€350 
Includes:

• 5 sessions (10 hours + up to 3 hours of individual practice time)
• All materials (clay and glazes)
• Firings for your final works

Classes are taught in both English and German.

Important Information

• Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty with clay and dust.
• We recommend keeping your fingernails short to better feel and work with the clay.
• By booking this class, you confirm that you have private liability insurance (in Germany: Privathaftpflichtversicherung).
